wednesday..... tuesday... monday...................................
today was a very boring day:
bored stiff
other than the good news that suds can let me stay in his melbourne house in december, and that i hit 500 fights in sorority life, i didnt do much.
oh i went to the post office to mail out someone's birthday present. postage was freaking expensive. $20 for mail?! uggghhhhh! maybe i should have clarified i wanted it by ship not air. i phoned him to get his address in the post center. probably bad to say this but it felt good to hear his voice.
tuesday was the newsroom test! carmelo was quite an ass- surprising the class by saying that he could not think up of more questions to carry the marks so he included the current affairs quiz. previous week he implied that he would most likely not do the current affairs. ugh.
evening time came and after rotting around the house i went off to curtin university to hear an astronaut speak.
long queue to reception
so freaking pissed. that day itself he said that if you wish to go for the event you must let me know today coz i will be rsvp-ing today, and showing me the slip of paper "rsvp by 9 sep" to show me that he meant it. so i said OK I WILL BE GOING. and then in the phone call he says i never tell him whether i will be going or not.
i never corrected him but im still kinda fuming over it. it wont help if i were to scream at him telling him that i did tell him i was going coz he would probably deny it and i have no solid proof. can you imagine how much i rushed down to watch the event and to be told i can't get in coz it's fully booked? if not for carlos being in the school and offering to send me back home, i would have just wilted there and then.
lucky i was patient and there was enough space for me to sit in. rawr.

i was so shy to get a picture with him since there was a mob around him. seems like elizabeth jolley theatre's really got it for me to take pictures with celebrities.

dr thomas presented very interesting clips of the view from space, and how was it like on the shuttle and he's really funny and a great speaker. i got the understanding that to be an astronaut it's not just having to excel in fitness, but the muscles have got to be very active up there as well- having an deep understanding for all physics work, doing math work at speed of light, and witty to engage people and linguistics since most space technicians speak only russian.
and its so fun to get to hear a telephone call made to dr thomas' wife, shannon walker, on the space craft. actually i didnt even know that she was his wife till i got home to check.
there was this waiting time for the connection to be made since there was something about the time in the lecture theatre and on the space craft not matching and the yellow dot on the screen having to get to reach argentina.
the white cube there on the floor is the equipment used to call the space craft. those are the 8 students who got to ask shannon questions.
some of the questions they asked were like, "when you come back down to earth, do you feel fat?" which got the audience laughing.

am uploading the video so that you can see how incredulously awesome it is to be an astronaut!
Monday!!
guess what i am trying to grow in the backyard
i like how my hair look like here with the sunlight washing over it. heh.
my past blog address iatechu is still available! haha. wondering if i should change back to that. also was pretty upset that i couldnt get my weekly dosage of bubble tea with my housemates but carlos cycled with me to winthrop while michael, marit and gigi walked there so that we could get my groceries made my day better.
