i dont like it when people quarrel with me, and they always end off with "it boils down to character" or attitude or whatever. immersely frustrating. WHY you ask?
coz so saying, you are stating the fact that my bad quality cannot be changed, ie a leopard doesnt change its spots. AND you're saying i have a bad character.
i really dislike it. i will never quarrel with anyone and say that. or bring up my children and discipline them by saying that.
it will increase the belief system that they are incorrigible.
it is generalising their character all because of one thing that they have done wrong? and which may not be wrong.
it is saying you hate that part of the person when you never know that that is the part of the person that makes the person.
so what if im overly sensitive to all your caustic remarks and that im not fun to hang around with? in other times, im also sensitive to your needs and feelings.
so what if i blow things out of proportion? you may think it's a small matter, but to other people, it's NOT. and you're just ignorant of it. out of proportion is in your mind, really. if you think a person is insignificant, you're wrong. a person is never insignificant. the person has other friends and family whom thinks the world of them. everything is significant.
