arrived way earlier than i thought,
slept like a homeless beggar in this room near the sky bus till debbie came to my rescue at 630am!

day2 melbourne
brighton beach. neoprints and thai lunch. dinner by debbie.

day3 melbourne
went to both campuses of monash uni. later in the evening, took tiger airlines to melbourne, cindy and big john picked us up! dinner at laksa place, LOTS OF catching up with yuling!

day4 brisbane
town with debbie! pretty brave for both girls travelling alone for their first times in a foreign land. bought $50 worth of stuff from jayjays, necklace, debbie got her travel case.

jonathan pushed debbie into the pool. -_- anyway it's good that debbie is a good sport. if it were up to me, i'll not only dump him into the pool, i'll knock his balls out cold first, then i will throw his macbook into the swimming pool too.
day 5 brisbane (fri)
went to university of queensland. beautiful place. bush turkeys. went to city on city cab which is a boat. bought waterproof camera!
dolce + banana in school canteen! YUM!
UQ has such nice buildings, i wouldnt mind having my wedding photos taken there. that's just how beautiful the place is.
i love the lake too! also, lots of wildlife creatures around, and their newest school logo is too cute.
the columns and windows are very UK-style, which i liked!
went to the lakes, the ducks didnt want to take pictures with me...
this little bush turkey couldnt get itself to fly! poor thing! you know, i could actually put it into my pocket and bring it home..
the school is the only school in brisbane that has a ferry service to take people to the city.
separated from cindy, debbie and john! went with yuling shopping :D

day 6 brisbane (sat)
shopping at a sunday bazaar and strawberry-picking at farm on a cold wet saturday!

day 7 brisbane (sun)
bbq lunch at cindy's- felt bad for not bringing food. sigh. got a little tipsy on the white wine.
went with yuling and her friends to have a korean meal and to the casino before richard sent yuling off to the airport.
richard gave me a brisbane go! card so now i have Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne cards!
steamed pork is really good. the kimchi thing opens appetite. supposed to wrap the cabbage around the pork and kimchi thing. yummm!!

day 8 brisbane (mon)
shopping at west end! feeling super broke then.
i love the old-school style butchers!
shopped at the mini op shops. saw this sailor dress that i really liked but didnt buy coz there were armpit stains that couldnt be bleached supposedly. sigh.

walked to the city and saw this building which looks like it has another building on top of it. too cool!
day 9 brisbane (tue)
movie world day!
marilyn monroe too gorgeous!
watched a 4D show. lol at water spraying at my face when the movie had some bugs spitting, and really jerky seats.

day 10 brisbane (wed)
wet n wild day!
i was so proud of myself for going to the park on my own taking the public transport. :)
armed with my fun pass which allows me unlimited entry to any of the parks till June 2011.
johnathan carries the float most of the time whenever we go on tornado. he looks like a butterfly in those chingay parades huh. haha.

overslept since i set the alarm clock to perth time boo. cindy and gang had to come pick me up!
day 13 brisbane (sat)
packed up my stuff in 221 sir fred schonell drive. went to the chinatown of brisbane to have char kway teow! then to 1 fairholme st, kenmore and swam. OFF TO AIRPORT!
slept here! such a nice place to sleep in!
among budget airlines like jet star, tiger airways, i think i love virgin blue the most!
got the window seat with both spaces beside me empty! WOOTS! then some guy came over to occupy the aisle seat which spoils the fun ohwell.
and the weather in perth is SO WARM omg. the people in melbourne were like still wearing winter jackets, and the weather in brisbane was like singapore, full of rain, at times warm but humid enough.
also i was quite amused that these states in the same country could be so different. the landscape itself would cause you to know what state you're in if i were to blindfold you and let you walk about. melbourne's full of busy and confusing traffic due to the trams that run across the city, and they have trees in between roads to make the place really scenic and nice. on the other hand, brisbane's full of slopes and they have rather narrow roads. the slopes are damm steep at some parts. when i was on the public bus and the bus had to stop on an upslope, i sincerely thought we could roll down the hill so easily.
and that's about all that is to melbourne and brisbane.
WISH I COULD GO SINGAPORE NOW....
