my goodness! it's been raining through the night and it hasnt stop ( at my press time: 545pm). vickland can now witness floods in singapore.
what if it rained day and night? our only fashion accesory would be our umbrellas. we would be dressed in our pyjamas and sackclothes, lamenting that we cant go out and play.
what if it rained up to the second storey? then we could boat around in plastic tubs and wooden furniture . we can dive into the waters from our flats. ( i live on the third storey ). i may swim to jurong point but then again, i know my mother wouldnt have allowed me to. luckily the mrts are built above ground or right underground. if it's underground, wouldnt it be like being in submarine?! instead of the ocean, we'll be looking at drown earthworms and cockroaches..lost slippers, shoes..and floating around would be clumps of human hair, and we'll freaked ourselves out crazy. would there have been bloated and pale bodies floating around? looking like dead guppies in my dad's fishtanks?
we may have human ferries. human rickshaws. saving children and animals. wading around, stepping on something soft and squishy, not knowing what it could be.ok, i am just indulging in my imagination. singapore being relatively disaster-free, can get boring sometimes and yes, we the 'next generation' adults, are getting complacent and ignorant about global affairs.
