The #10v3 thing

I thought of collating and logging the data behind the incidents that make me love suds but I'd save it for another day. It must be really cheesy for readers. I am sure you know how it feels to read the recount of how-we-fell-in-love from people and feel cynical about it. Well, I like to think that I know it all too well because I have experienced them before...the feelings of being in a failed relationship and how those "heartfelt phone calls and texts" and "eternal promises" can end up being so empty. Needless to say I am often unmoved by what people say when they are in love. Being in public scrutiny can be quite scary.

While I am unable to list them #1, #2, .....#1007, #1008... I like to think that it is probably safe to numerate them like #10v3 so that I won't end up counting to #10 and then the relationship would go ka-boom.

So the #10v3 thing that I love about Suds was during that day when we went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. I ordered a Beef Crispy Noodles, which was not at all like what I was expecting when it arrived at my table. Within the minute that I was picking at it and tasting it, Suds offered to switch foods with me, which I gladly did. The noodles were really soggy and the beef was tasteless. Only after the meal did I realize that Suds did not like the noodles too...he never liked things fried. He said that he switched with me coz my expression gave it away that I was extremely uncomfortable with what I ordered. I was surprised as I knew that I did not  make faces intentionally...and he's now like really good at reading me and knowing how I feel about certain things.

Now, relationships can be admirable when one gets to receive expensive things or have the other one sacrificing lots for you. But this is another aspect about love that I have come to appreciate, and that is what that is: "he knows". Like a best friend who understands you as clear as the light of day, like a mother's touch upon which unseeing, distressed babies find comfort in, like a heavenly body knowing every single decibel of the wrenching of a heart.....it sure is really nice when my boyfriend knows.

And yes love is only validated when the boyfriend knows these things and act upon it.

Also to offer a little of counter-balance, there are times when he does things that he knows that will annoy me, like man-handling me all the time and throwing me off the bed and insulting my superior intelligence and choice of movies (read: chick flicks) and telling me that I own too many clothes even though I clearly do not.

But I still love him despite all of that. :)

On the contrary, and perhaps for a very odd reason, I don't find it cynical reading about other ppl's romantic stories. It's always nice to read about what people do for each other, like how you see wedding/prewed pics, you see people genuinely happy. This time you get to read people being genuinely happy. It's nice =) like rainbow nice =)
