the other day i tried to complete the Graduate Visa form (which supposedly would entitle me to 6 months in Australia after graduating) and i got to like 50% of the humongously long forn to realise that they have really limited the skilled list such that i am not eligible to apply for this visa after i graduate.
so, in order to stay in australia to be with suds, i may need a de facto or a spousal visa, i.e. get "married" to stay after graduation...
when i broke the news to suds, i was quite unhappy but suds didnt seem the least shocked or upset. i like to think that he seems to be more sensitive and nicer to me now, and has more concrete plans to meet my parents and think about our future.
he spoke to his school's career adviser and they told him that as a vet, he would most likely have a better future in UK than in Australia, since UK has double the population of Australia and the same number of vet schools. Better career prospects equals better money and a better chance of probably going to New York or something like that to work......
i have never thought about all these, and i am super unprepared to say the least. i do want to go overseas a whole lot! i told suds i wouldnt mind staying in uk for a year. we just have to wait till the end of 2013 when he graduates.
haha. marriage. so funny. so weird.
