the magazine company i'm interning for recently held their first theatrical fashion show. why theatrical, you may ask. the fashion models came out strutting and made some dramatic poses and there were artsy dances between fashion shows.
also the magazine were supporting this welfare group called halo, which supports the Aboriginal teens. hence there was this act by an Aboriginal pair of boys dancing to hip-hop, which was quite cute haahhaa.
wahhh can't describe what a hard time it was to hang up all the ikea lanterns. i wished i had skills of a stilts-walker to make the job easier. shifting the ladder to go up on it, to discover that the position was far away from a certain ceiling beam, went down on shaky knees, readjust, and go up again. sigh. not to mention this annoying coward of a guy who came to offer his excuse of not going up the ladder "look at this ladder all rickety and rusty, it's not that i won't go up on it, but if it was only a newer and sturdier ladder...." overall, i kinda learnt a hard lesson about life in a magazine... and the workers who toil at the event.
suds came down to fetch me from the event :) we had dinner at northbridge and he was almost delirious with glee, seeing how he managed to park parallel in a tight spot earlier on and is eating out on a weekday night.... perhaps it's also because he managed to talk his way into me buying him a pricey dinner. wahlaoooo.
