preggers fashun

can't help looking at maternity wear after seeing how nathalie portman in her get-up, in light of her Black Swan fame.

in my opinion, it's very difficult for any preggers lady to look gorgeous. everytime i see one pregnant lady in her maternity wear, i'd wonder how attractive they must have been to get laid in the first place. then i'd pity her husband for towing his "mother sow" of a wife around.
this was the picture that got me thinking and inspired to do a preggy fashion post. I AM NOT ANYWHERE NEAR PREGNANT if you're concerned.

love that third-dimensional rose pin at her chest, drawing attention to the developed chest, and how the material gently cascades over the baby bump, instead of being tightly stretched across it.

pink and red...both innocent and sexy at the same time.

nathalie portman looking slightly grumpy. bad photo, but i love the neatness of her look, the satin band on her empire-waisted dress.

the flare of the dress starts out from the chest and is puffy , making it suitable for even non-preggy girls to wear.

being in australia, i got to be exposed to lots of news featuring australian celebs and royalty, and i often get news of Princess Mary on the style watch of australian media here.

looking sassy in a harem jumpsuit.
comfortable and daring for a royalty, but oooooh yes, so good!

what princess mary would be wearing otherwise!

and i really her here very much:
such beautiful print! and her hairstyle...so wonderfully slicked back and sharp. such a beautiful dress befitting of her royalty.

and so i went to source ASOS for stuff that commoner pregnant ladies could wear and i found a mix of non-maternity and maternity wear that would complement a baby bump.

halter necks are the bomb. i remember diana wearing this printed halter dress in a satin make like this and she just glows so prettily in it. love the neat schoolgirl-ish pleats of this dress.

i could imagine it being accessorize with neon yellow colours in an eclectic style or dressed up smartly with white and red, in a nautical feel.

good for girls who would wish to hide lumpy stomache/ are 1 trimester pregnant.

i love this look. so smart looking, it'll put jeans-wearing office ladies to shame.

wrap dress and structured shoulders for the win!

i dont really adore this dress per se, but i put this up as a reminder to wear chunky accessories. it's good to offset that large lump centered in the portrait of a pregant lady, making it look less obtrusive.

i adore shift dresses. while this is kinda impractical for post or pre-pregnancy wear, this dress with that contrast band is a very classy design. it's a very updated look for the modern pregnant lady.

this dress wasnt made for maternity wear but i thought if i had the expenses, i'd remake this dress with a flowy material, leaving that sliver of skin to tease people's minds of the sexiness of the baby bump. most maternity dresses tend to cover all, especially at the belly part, so this dress is special to highlight what everybody wishes to hide, and it's done in a very tasteful way.

the black material in the long-sleeve feature makes a preggy lady's arms look slender.

this dress reminds me of the Gucci dress Joanne Peh wore to Star Search:

best star search dress ever worn to the ceremony!

also like this bright chiffon flowing piece here!
black tights look so hot.

and perhaps it is easier to know what NOT to wear...

empire dresses with folds that makes the boobies look like papaya fruits in plastic bags...
and dislike the super blogshop look of that neckline.

yep i get you're supposed to distract attention away from the baby bump but this print gets people into a hypnotic mind-confusion. and the dated make of the dress with the zzz boatneck. this would only be modern 23 years ago, when my mum was pregnant with me.

AND ALSO PINAFORES OH GAWD....

why do they like to dress pregnant ladies up in pinafore looks....

my post is not balanced to show what a pregnant lady should wear in an autumn or winter season. oh wells. this post shall be revised when i should get married one day.
