j a n e t: another weekend

saturday my aunt came over to my place and i cooked lunch for her! she criticised my meals, giving it 6/10 the first time she came over. this time however, she is pretty much impressed so yay!

baked ginger slice in soya sauce chicken

this is a anyhow-bom dish. tastes nice! could have tasted the same with steaming as well i reckon.

green curry chicken; stir-fried spinach with egg; onion omelette and sausages

i likey green curry a lot. i have a reputation of having green curry all the time when we go to the kopitiam franchise at vivo to have our meals. bought a can of ready-mix green curry- stir fried garlic and added the sauce, and later the coconut milk (added a lot to counter spiciness) and some seafood soya sauce. fish sauce would be better!

later it was to winthrop shopping centre to explore coz my aunt haven't been there. it was a 15min walk away from my house, akin to a gek poh to home in the singapore context. discovered that the place has LAN gaming too! at $4/hr it is really expensive and i am not sure if they have Left4Dead2.

then clarence called me out to dinner at terry's place.terry is a Shanghainese and he's really interesting- being the first Chinese guy i know who's Muslim. and quite a sweet-talker too. he claims to be the sole distributor of dopie shoes in China and offered to get me one. haha!

terry's housemate, vincent, is a total JJ Lin lookalike and loves karaoke. they invited me to karaoke and i can't wait to have a picture with vincent to show you how i was hanging out with JJ Lin yo~! :D

besides the initial controversy that shrouded the outing, with my cell leader Yuwin advising not to go since he doesnt know the guys well, it turned out really great and i enjoyed myself :)

SUNDAY is a beautiful day!!!!!

clarence picked us ladies up and we head to church at Curtin. service with Terry Walker is a blast. his testimony as an ex-heroin addict, ex-pimp, ex-thief is so inspiring.

a guy who was born into a poor family where he was brought up to break into houses to become someon who owns a security business; a guy who thought dope was Godsend to him, was heavily addicted to heroin and in a heavy dosage session thought he was surely entering into a comatose but prayed and the room becoming so bright with God saying "because you called me, i have heard you and will put you in high places"; a guy who is wanted by police all over, finally surrendered to jail with a minimum 6 years imprisonment reduced to 5.5 weeks because the judge was moved and "God says it wasnt me who wanted you out of the prison, the devil wanted you out of the prison too since you were converting all the inmates"; a guy who christianed his harley hallelujah and used a motorbike rally to win money for charitable causes-- how amazing God is!

later i was also treated with a guest speaker from home singapore! i was like cheering and screaming when he says who's from singapore?!? and who's from city harvest church!!!

you probably cant tell since this was on super zoom and i have shaky hands.

he talked about how we having talents, can use them to reveal to people what God is like, so that they can experience God's love for themselves when we arent able to fully demonstrate God's love.

did you know that the Asia Conference 2010's theme song was written when he was watching Clash of the Titans?! Running with the Giants: "Running Your way with giants of faith we will go-o-o-o! it's so awe-inspiring to see how the song came about, and how he envisioned the song as he described how he saw clouds of weaknesses parting to reveal the biblical heroes of faith, joshua, david and all stepping out.

KC Gan was invited to pen the teacher's day song for Singapore! how cool is that right! imagine the whole student population singing "sama sama bajuge hardapiah! panda chari!" and imagine now, them and the long of students in history to come, singing his song. what an awesome celebration.

evening time came and my house mates had a mass dinner! we dont do this often- usually we cook our own individual meals so it's nice to sit down together. although i had to struggle to understand canto, that is.

i realised arthur's not arthur and is in fact and has been all along, ah-fa. sounds like arthur in english to me!!! well that is his grilled ham wrapped around straw mushrooms appetizer. love it!
