Campus Race

orientation week has just begun!!!

yesterday i went to school at a super early timing, and by myself. from the host's place it is Bus-Train-Bus again. the buses have very super long intervals so the waiting part is the one that really kills me. otherwise it's pretty ok to travel.

reached school earlier than i thought and the Volunteers (or otherwise known in singapore as the OGL orientation group leaders) declared that i must be a singaporean!! if they only knew how much i love being late in singapore!!

so the first friend i made was a Nigerian who is quite funny. glad that he's a christian and that he feels as out of place as i am too. he's bewildered about seeing so many white faces for the first time in his life. fell asleep during the one of the lectures rawr. they had all the talks from president of the student services, state security police, student visas representative, transperth spokesperson, muslim club representative, student counselling services representative etc.

really informative but information overload!!!!

the second day was where the real orientation starts- in the form of an amazing race-styled campus race! the 2 singaporean girl friends i made avoided coming to this race zzz. so lonely!

i must be kinda siao on. took bus-train-bus and the bus hours on saturdays are horrible! i later found out that the bus to school from murdoch station were not in service on saturdays! AND THEN I HAD TO WALK TO SCHOOL!!! RAWR!

my team was made up of entirely caucasians. i was totally shocked and rather horrified initially. but i know it would be social suicide if i asked to change groups...

so here's Team Awesome! we won the entire race!

then i met my aunt for house viewing and i am probably more or less moving into a house of hongkong and shanghai people! my aunt's nice to let me eat fish & chips instead of forcing me to finish the pack of instant noodles i made her buy!

and she bought me bubble tea too! SO NICE!!! :D green apple green tea with green apple jelly. missed Sweetalk's one so much!!!
