anyway on saturday i went with my ku ma, mum, baby and the maid to TWO fun fairs before heading to the church service.
TWO fun fairs! phew! woke up pretty early for a saturday morning to get to Bishan Salvation Army to see a mini fun fair and eat! got a rechargeable mosquito swatter which is shaped like a badminton racket. been wanting one for a long time but i dont know if it would work. there i koped a leftover silver foil star-shaped balloon for myself that left me pretty happy! i never get any helium-filled things for myself...these things cheer me up. haha.
i totally fell asleep on the way to seng kang sec's fun fair. so many booths and people at that fun fair! it reminded me of the fun fair in my secondary days where classes were forced to create a food or games booth. i got a nice second-hand white sweet dress for $2- that was the main highlight for me! and this lime green tube of bubble solution which creates huge bubbles when you swing the wand in the air for $5 and a rubber chicken which makes uncouth clucks when you squeeze its belly for $2.
my mum pointed out that the food looked rather unhygienic by the way it was prepared and we steered clear of purchasing any for ourselves. but they had standards! i liked how professional some of the booths were- they got this cotton candy machine, and a guy from those pasar malam ramlee stalls to make kebabs, and they made bubble tea which the green apple green tea was really tempting in that stuffy weather made worse with a crowd of sweaty pubescent teens.
people kept asking me later at service if it was for wendy zahhh. can't i get any balloons for myself.. i almost felt pressured to give it away because everyone seems to expect me to.
later on after the service while victor was helping me to untie the balloon from my bag and i was demonstrating to anxian and adeline how easy it is for the balloon without the string to fly away, it really did flew away to the rooftop!!!!!! i felt so bad!! ugh! our faces were mortified and stunned by the balloon. had a good laugh after that.
lesson learnt!!! never to test a balloon's helium-ness in a place with tall ceilings. i shall never let go a helium balloon without any strings thinking i could jump and get it back. it is probably as impossible as pinning jelly onto the wall.
i enjoyed the mutton soup and chwee kueh and the banana fritter that jamie shared with me (i owe u 30 cents!) at bedok...!! so thankful to adeline for doing the vote thing and causing the dinner to happen! otherwise i would have allowed for kenneth's suggestion to go to foodfare to materialize instead.
sunday was yet another day out with my mummy! along with the maid and baby of course.
my dad and my mum are still going through yet another petty quarrel otherwise they would have gone out without me. sigh.
went to bugis with them and i got a nice pretty lanyard at the adidas store at iluma for free!
u can google it to see how the Augmented Reality thing works! really cool- especially if you're a apparel line trying to sell clothes to people over the internet and they can imagine how they look like with the item of clothing without having to physically try it on. lookie at this: link
got over to OG to see the auntie things my mum likes to see.... little chloe was really cute at the toy department. she was such a little selfish tyke sulking and saying "no!" when this little boy came over to slam the keys of the keyboard she was playing. then she's so cute when i told her to smell the packages of the strawberry cupcake dolls, and she held it up sniffing it for such a socially-awkward long time! then later she ran over to the plushies section to hug the dolphin soft toys, looking soooo cute till she dropped them at that instant when she spotted her favourite Little Eisteins toys.
she's so clever at identifying things when i couldn't and she's really adamant- not willing to relent whenever we big adults could not be bothered to until she gets our attention on the thing she wants.
so i helped took down all the individual little eistein characters for her to press their bellies and hear some recording. sigh. too bad yi yi no money. only my sisters' boyfriendsssss will bother to get these kinda stuff.
i dragged my mum to bugis street to get all the things that her deprived daughter never had the luxury to attain...
