backdated post!! i changed the date of this post! if u noticed!
friday i went to the court to watch the case of Kang Kah Li. it was really sad- mother murdering her son. you must think that this mother was very cold-blooded and the mother must hated the son but noooo it's not that case. the mother did love the son very much and so did the son to his mother.
such that the mother when asking the son while he was tied up and had his nostrils blocked with towels, "mummy dont want to live anymore, do you want to follow me?" the son though had tears in his eyes, did the action the mother and son always do when either one of them was upset, and then the mother presumed he agreed and proceeded to end his life. the record being read out also says, "if i knew he wanted to live and struggled, i would have stopped immediately." then before the son actually started foaming and bleeding, his hands were shaped in the thumbs up position.
see, the mother was actually in debt and went to fake documents of being employed so that she could get a credit card loan. but she was found out and was going to be jailed for forgery and attempted cheating. she had asked her son if she were to go away, how would he feel and he said "i will be angry" and she had then asked her son who was second best to taking care of his son, he said "no one". thinking no one could pamper the son as much as she would and that the relatives who often looked down upon them would mistreat her son, she felt like a failure and the thoughts of suicide were further exacerbated...
she tried to kill herself after killing her son but failed to in all 3 attempts. :(
anyway the story is reaally long and i could remember everything, just thought it would be boring to share.
i was seated in the court with Madam Kang's relatives and i cried along with one or two of her relatives. soooooo cui can. i didnt had tissue on me (in the end i found out i did) and i was wiping my tears and snot on my shirt -___- coz i felt very embarrassed to borrow tissue or leave the room. i didnt want to attract too much attention to myself by leaving the room too.
then i was hoping that the judge could see my tears and relent. felt that the lawyer was very good at speaking, just very weak against the DPP (public prosecutor) and his rebut could be very emotional- hence not able to convince the judge. sian! i wished i could speak out.
Tan Eu-Jin, may you rest in peace.
