i love marketing.
the business of selling stuff.. the risks involved..
it's like fishing, waiting to get your harvest hooked
and then it's like gambling, with all that hoping and chances involved.

but then, marketing involves alot of art. it works also on the subconscious. and it involves millions and billions of dollars. in other words, it is a lucrative business. and not one to be taken lightly.

bad advertisements get forgotten easily. but good advertisements will always be quoted and talked about all the time, remembered even when the product has pulled out or even if the company has shut down.

i dont like macdonalds. or coca cola. but, i have to admit their advertisements are fantastic. especially the recent "the more we get together" one. even when it played so many times, and appeared everywhere, i find it entertaining, and wouldnt mind not switching the channels just so to enjoy the advertisement. it is a silly one, for which healthy athlectic would feed on macdonalds (all the athletics in the cafeteria eating macs)?! the advertisement is sorta deceptive and deception is not ethical. but the ingeniuty behind it makes up for all the flaws i can nitpick out of this advert.

marketing takes risk. no risk no gain.

i was inspired to do this (POST not the making out oh my tian) coz of these posters on a discussion forum

one of the people commented:
"..(it is) hilariously over the top just like the show"

and another:
"I love how they took what all the haters said and were just like lol yeah let's just make these quotes on the ads!"

and i AGREE!! i love how they used the slang. i love how they lighten the whole thing up and injected that sense of much-needed humour. i love the mischief behind it. love it!

so, im very motivated to do all theze marketing shiz.

on a sidenote! during this Proj Runway advertisement while we were watching tv, she said, "should our big daughter go into designing? see she dress up so nice all the time" and waaaa haha i am quite flattered! she looked at my face and was grinning (not being that serious) but it was nice to hear that. i like it when people genuinely appreciate me. hahahha but i dont like it when i get praised when i feel ugly or in front of many many people and everyone's waiting for my response.
