NTU open house was whoa..
felt like a little girl in that big whole campus, woo-ahhing over the hostels (how fun), the grass building (shall elaborate more), the seniors, the lack of handsome and pretty people, and the seriousness of uni life.
i know it may sound silly, but i was so intimidated by the engineering faculty building. i felt chills going down my spine imagining myself trapped in some lab with rows and rows of test tubes.
the building was a grey long block..dry boring dull stale. it's not that im sour grapin about not having the scores to qualify; im even sad that i had to study 6 years of chemistry and physics to find out im not the least bit interested in this path. i love chemistry (when im scoring of course) but jc chem has left a bad taste in my mouth. :(
the art design media faculty was the ONLY redeeming factor of the whole experience there. redeemed: shock of indian scholars rock band, loud tong-tong-chiang lion dance tropes (like who will join ntu for lion dance?), buddhist clubs, tarot card-readers.
anyways, this faculty is really new, having two batches of intakes. it's also the only school in singapore offering B.F.A degree (Bachelor of Fine Arts). it just sounds prestigious. also, the lecturers are mainly non-chinese. and the building is just way cool. it has this sloping roof, which instead of roof tiles, has grass all over it. besides, not only does it serves its aesthetic purposes, it functions as a way to keep the building cool when the grass absorbs the sun rays to photosynthesize. the lecturer speaking, Martin Constable, says that they have parties on top of the roof and thats so cute! now, thats something.
i'm afraid that if i babble on so much about this, i may jinx myself and the chances of entering the course. i just so dread the portfolio and 3-min video and 400 word essay on why u should be choosen for the course. =(
coz i hope i do get in. ntu, so near my house! and i know i would enjoy the course and the artsy-fartsy people.
PS I LOVE SY ROGERS!! blown away yet again.
PPS I GOT A NEW HP!! ha. 5 mega-pixels. can u beat that? =D
